Little Lion Roars: What’s New, What We’ve Built, and What’s Next for Little Lion Landscape Design
Welcome to the very first edition of Little Lion Roars!
The trucks are rolling, the design boards are stacked, and the Little Lion crew is officially back in full swing. We’ve spent the last few weeks gearing up for our biggest season yet, tuning up our equipment, and hitting the ground running across Greater Portland and the Sebago Lake region.
As peak landscaping season kicks into high gear, we wanted to launch this new update series to take you behind the scenes. In this first edition, we’re sharing a quick look at the projects we’ve already pulled off this year, how we are upgrading our design process, and exactly what you can expect from our team as we head into the summer.
What We’ve Done So Far This Year: From Snow to Spring Shifts
Our year actually started in the thick of a classic Maine winter, with our crew working around the clock handling residential snow removal to keep local properties safe and clear. But as the seasons began to shift, we didn’t waste any time. While we waited for the last of the lingering snowbanks to melt out of the shade, we got a head start on the construction season by jumping straight into early-season walkway installations.
Once the ground officially thawed, the real spring rush began. Since then, our days have been a non-stop blur of comprehensive spring cleanups, fresh plantings, and full-scale lawn restorations. We’ve been logging long hours doing the heavy lifting - clearing winter debris, prepping soil, and dialing in garden beds - to ensure our clients' properties are looking absolutely immaculate for the warm summer months ahead.
Growing the Pride: Welcome, David!
With the demand for local, high-quality landscape design higher than ever this year, we knew we needed to expand our crew with people who share our work ethic. We are incredibly excited to welcome our newest team member, David!
When he isn’t working with us, David serves our community as a firefighter for the City of Portland. He brings incredible energy, problem-solving skills, and a serious hustle to our job sites, and he’s eager to get the absolute most out of his time on the line with the Little Lion crew this season. If you see him in the trucks or working on your property, give him a warm welcome!
Looking Ahead: Our Hardscape Schedule is Filling Fast
As we look toward June and July, our calendar is shifting heavily into major structural transformations. Our early-summer hardscape installation schedule is already almost entirely booked. If you have been dreaming about a custom stone patio, a durable new walkway, or a complete backyard overhaul before the year ends, the time to get on our radar is right now. We are actively scheduling consultations for late-summer and fall installations, but those slots are moving fast.
When you build with us, we don’t just throw stones together. We follow a meticulous, step-by-step method designed to withstand tough Maine winters and guarantee your investment lasts for decades. You can take a deep dive into exactly how we plan, prep, and execute our builds by checking out Our Process Page.
Bringing these outdoor spaces to life is exactly why we love what we do, and it wouldn't be possible without the incredible support of our Southern Maine community. Thank you for keeping this small business thriving—now let’s go enjoy the summer!
